Who am I

Boy there’s a big question. Some of you may get to see me figure that one out.

First off, my name is Richard and, I’m an official “OLD GUY”. Save your time sending me singles in your area, and such.

My Wife and I own a Freightliner over the road tractor and a 53 foot trailer and travel the U.S. and Canada.

We have two daughters that are out of the nest. One a teacher in Phoenix, and the other sort of deciding what to do with the next part of her life.

When we vacation, we like to go to the United Kingdom, for you public school students, that’s England , Wales, Scotland, and a bit of Ireland. My favorite place, Porthmadog, Wales, home of the Ffestiniog Railway. Junes special place,standing on Hadrian’s wall, near Haexham, England.

Travellers Rest

Pub, Resturant, B&B

Our favorite resturant would have to be Travellers Rest, about eight miles south of Hexham , England toward Slaley. Kind of out of the way, but it is the perfect English, Pub/ Resturant. You tip a brew and have dinner there, and have truly been to England.

You will find that I have some strong opinons on many things.

I have learned things over the years that I’d wished someone had shared with me when I was younger. In a perfect world, I could sue the Portland Public School District for malpractice. That will no boubt be the focus of a large rant later.

I play with little trains, old cars, and photos, in my spare time. Lately that hasen’t been a lot, the truck takes much of my time these days.

There will be much to follow, my time at Portland Airport, see the great airlines of our time replaced by transportation brokers (bean counters). My strong feelings about the loss of the Pan Am Clipper Morning Light, this may be too intense for some of you. And updates on the automotive, model train, and photo projects.
