The result of a few minutes with Paint Shop Pro:
http://img11.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dadscar.jpg
I got out most of the scratches and cleaned up the color balance a bit. Detail level is still pretty low, though...is there a larger file somewhere? I could do more with that.

Yeah. Probably some statute of limitations has run on this. Got the Challenger to 147 MPH passing 185th Ave on highway 26.
That's enough air to lift the hood about six inches.
Oh...And the Washington County Deputy that was sitting on the on ramp, never took his 70 Fury out of park, but chewed me out, a couple weeks later.

I notice that we're being vague about how we know it can do 145, and how so much air got under the hood on 26.

Those will do fine for the huge trees on the bottoms of valley. The ones stuck into the almost-straight-up part of the valley, though, need to be smaller to be able to hang on by their roots. They might also have a little curvature at the bottom of the trunk, from sprouting more out from the ground at first and then curving up toward the light. You know, if you actually want to be that picky.

And if we're going for hyperrealism, the branches below the canopy won't be as leafy as that. Which might be an advantage anyway because otherwise people won't be able to see the train, through the forest, for the trees.

They don't look over scale to me. They are big, especially compared to ready made trees but most ready made trees are very small. According to wikipedia oak trees grow to 80 - 120 ft which is 18 inches in 4mm scale. I don't remember what type of trees are in the Vale of Ffestiniog though.

Even the full WHR would be a bit long for small children. “Murder on the Ffestiniog Express” isn't to my taste either but I expect it'd be a popular special if they did it. I hope they do run some sort of through service though.
